Our client is a U.S. based global telecommunication component developer and manufacturer. In China, it operates two engineering centres and one assembly plant.

Responsibilities

Based in Shanghai, the Financial Controller will manage and control the day-to-day operations of the accounting and finance functions of the China offices.
• Direct liaison with the VP of Finance based in US. The appointee will ensure smooth and effective communication and timely and accurate reporting of the operation and financial results to company headquarters in U.S.
• Maintain accounting systems (Financial Reporting, General Ledger Accounting, Cost Accounting and Inventory, Accounts Payable, Credit / Accounts Receivable) and ensure proper financial and accounting records. Oversee the preparation of financial statements and management reports and be responsible for reviewing the same for accuracy.
• Develop policies and procedures, where needed, and ensure compliance with all established corporate policies and procedures. Lead the preparation of management reports, forecasts and budgets to meet with the corporate management reporting and control requirements.
• Lead China accounting organization and ensure organization is appropriately staffed and trained to complete its task in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure compliance of all local statutory and U.S. GAAP requirements with proper documentation. Monitor and ensure compliance with all government related filings associated with all relevant tax, financial reporting and custom issues.
• Lead regional implementation and deployment of new ERP system.

Candidate Specifications

• University graduate with professional accounting qualification. Around 8 years well-rounded accounting leadership experience gained from multinational or renowned companies.
• Excellent English communication skills in both written and spoken.
• Well-versed in China accounting and tax matters.
• Must have US GAAP experience; knowledge of IFRS and manufacturing costing system
• Proficient in window based spreadsheet and word-processing.
• Previous experience with ERP system or international accounting system.
• Successful candidate will be an efficient and effective communicator with experience influencing and managing teams.
