SkyCross Names 30-Year Communication
Industry Veteran As Senior Scientist
MELBOURNE, Florida, June 28, 2001 — SkyCross, a leading
developer of advanced wireless antenna solutions, today announced
Frank M. Caimi, Ph.D., P.E., as Senior Scientist for the Florida-based
company.
In this position, Dr. Caimi, who has more than 30 years of experience
in antenna and RF research and development, will provide technology
oversight, deliver innovative approaches to research and development,
as well as, serve as a valued advisor for new product applications.

Most recently, Dr. Caimi served as Associate Professor of Electrical
Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), Department
of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prior to joining FIT, Dr.
Caimi served as a senior member of a research institute that primarily
conducted government-sponsored research.
During his 30-year career, Dr. Caimi has actively served as a
consultant on communications and signal processing for industry
and government organizations and has more than 18 years experience
in technical and leadership management. He has served in many senior-level
engineering positions in a variety of industrial R&D settings.
His background also includes establishing research programs and
developing rapid prototypes of advanced laser and communications
systems for government, industrial, and scientific communities.
Dr. Caimi earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon
University in Pittsburgh. He has written over 100 articles related
to communications signal processing and has contributed a chapter
to the Wiley Handbook of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Caimi also
has served a section editor and contributor to a CRC Press Handbook
in fiberoptic communications and to the Marcel Dekker Handbook
of Optical Engineering.
