SkyCross Announces Design Win
for Antenna
in New Samsung GSM Mobile Phone
MELBOURNE, Florida, December 1, 2004 - Wireless antenna manufacturer
SkyCross today announced that Samsung has begun using its patented
embedded antenna technology in its new wireless dual band GSM/GPRS
phone, the SGH X-610. The phone was recently introduced at the
Busan ITU 2004 electronics show in Korea and is planned to be launched
in the European markets this month. SkyCross has developed this
new high-performing GSM/DCS dual band internal antenna specifically
for this revolutionary Samsung handset, which is the slimmest bar-style
phone with a camera available in the marketplace today.
The SkyCross antenna provides coverage in both the GSM and DCS
frequency ranges. It offers exceptional gain, efficiency and low
SAR, while at the same time being able to accommodate the market-pleasing
slender style offered by this new mobile phone due to the patented
design technology that allows the antenna to be ultra thin.
"We are very excited to be a part of this new Samsung handset," said
Dr. Chris Morton, CEO of SkyCross. "We are very pleased to
be working with a company of this caliber and are ecstatic that
SkyCross' patented wireless antenna technology has helped enable
Samsung to provide a sleek, highly styled handset with the exceptional
performance that today's wireless consumers demand."
The announcement comes on the heels of other recent design win
announcements, including antennas for the SKTeletech IM 7300 clam
style CDMA handset for the Korean marketplace and the Sendo "X
Phone" GSM handset for GSM networks throughout the world.
