SkyCross Antenna Selected by One
of China's Largest Telephone Manufacturers
MELBOURNE, Florida, July 11, 2005 - SkyCross, the Florida-based
developer of advanced wireless RF and antenna solutions, today
announced it is supplying dual-band embedded antenna technology
to Qiao Xing Universal Telephone, Inc. for use in three of its
COSUN-branded GSM mobile handsets. These handsets are scheduled
for release to the domestic China market beginning the third quarter
of this year.
The COSUN brand has long been used in the indoor phone business
segment. Qiao Xing Universal Telephone, Inc. is leveraging the
brand's highly-respected status throughout China to gain recognition
in the mid and lower tier wireless Chinese marketplace where handset
volumes are extremely high. COSUN already has over 5,000 established
distribution outlets throughout the country.
The SkyCross antenna that will be integrated into the handset
design provides coverage in both the GSM and DCS frequency ranges.
It offers exceptional gain, efficiency and low SAR, while at the
same time being able to accommodate the market-pleasing slender
style offered by these new mobile phones. The outstanding performance
of the ultra-thin COSUN handsets is a key feature that continues
to distinguish the phones from the competition.
"We are very excited to be a part of these new COSUN handsets," said
Dr. Chris Morton, CEO of SkyCross. "We are pleased to be working
with a company of this caliber to provide our SkyCross antenna
technology that enables them to deliver the sleek, highly styled
handsets and the exceptional performance that today's wireless
consumers demand."
