Florida, November 7, 2005 - A leading news service has announced this summer’s
best selling mobile handsets at SK Telecom, South Korea’s largest mobile
telecom service provider. SkyCross is pleased to announce that its
embedded antenna designs are included in two of these top three selling handsets:
the Samsung SCH-S350 ranked number one, and the SK Teletech IM-8300 ranked
number three. Both handsets raise the industry standards in an already
sophisticated market. SkyCross contributes to this success by providing
small embedded antennas that offer increased coverage, improved battery capacity,
and fewer dropped calls without sacrificing phone capabilities or aesthetic
design.
The number one selling handset in Korea is the Samsung SCH-S350 phone, equipped
with a custom SkyCross antenna that supports CDMA and GPS while accommodating
the 0.3 megapixel camera and MP3 player. SkyCross neatly fit the multi-mode
antenna into this device, freeing space for handset designers to add desired
features to a very compact, lightweight phone only 3.3 inches long – an
obviously esteemed combination to consumers. This handset gained its
popularity with ample functionality at a very affordable price. The
phone quickly jumped to the number two ranking after its release and has
successfully defended the number one position since May 2005.
SK Teletech secures the number three spot with its IM-8300 handset launched
in April 2005. SkyCross designed the high-performance embedded CDMA
antenna for this phone to complement its other advanced features such as
a 2.2-inch LCD screen for clear viewing from any angle, camera, and MP3 player.
Together with the SkyCross antenna, this phone is rated the best SK Teletech
