SkyCross Antennas Selected by Hisense for Numerous Wireless Devices
Applications Range from Advanced Mobile Handsets For
Mature Markets to Fixed Wireless Phones for Emerging Economies
VIERA, Florida, November 14, 2007—SkyCross, a global wireless company providing antenna-centric, radio-frequency (RF) solutions, today announced that Chinese manufacturer Hisense is purchasing SkyCross antennas for wireless devices ranging from advanced multi-function mobile handsets for mature markets to fixed wireless phones for emerging economies. SkyCross is supporting this large customer from its recently announced design facility in Shanghai and existing design and manufacturing plants in Shenzhen, China.
Hisense is a highly regarded electronics manufacturer contributing to the rapid uptake of wireless devices in China. Hisense is ranked number 7 in the 2007 Top 100 Electronics Manufacturers list issued by the Chinese Ministry of Information and reported net profit growth of more than 22 percent in the first half of 2007 over the same period last year. SkyCross is supporting this Chinese powerhouse with antennas for dozens of projects.
Skycross antennas set designers at Hisense free to create a full range of consumer electronics enabled with services including voice, data, and location. In many cases, the multi-band antennas for mobile handsets support GSM and/or CDMA combined with GPS, Bluetooth, and other functions. SkyCross is also supplying 450 MHz antennas for fixed wireless phones. These products are sold in countries without a wired infrastructure.
