SkyCross Antennas Embedded in Sennheiser’s Award-Winning Wireless Earphones
VIERA, Florida, January 22, 2008—SkyCross, a global wireless company providing antenna-centric RF solutions, today announced that its antennas are embedded in award-winning wireless earphones by Sennheiser, a world leader in microphone technology, radio-frequency and infrared sound transmission, headphone technology, and active noise-cancellation. Sennheiser revealed the new earphones, model MX W1, at the CES show earlier this month and received
Popular Mechanics Editor’s Choice award as one of the top 20 products at the show. The earphones use wireless technology from Kleer, which enables unique features such as ‘true wireless earbuds’ and outstanding CD-quality stereo sound.
The versatile antenna technology at SkyCross sets designers free to create innovative products without compromising function or industrial design. SkyCross custom designed antennas for Sennheiser using Kleer radio architecture to deliver superior performance, small size, and low power consumption—three essential ingredients for a wearable audio system.
“Sennheiser built a reputation over more than 60 years of providing unparalleled audio products,” said Joe Gifford, VP of Business Development at SkyCross. “We are proud to offer a solution that meets the Sennheiser standard of excellence and look forward to providing additional products to the company.”
“The superior antenna performance provided by SkyCross helped us create a must-have product,” said Jens Wildhagen, Product Development Manager at Sennheiser Consumer Electronics. “SkyCross products are complemented by unmatched customer service and local support.”
The MX W1 will be available in the U.S. approximately May 2008.
