SkyCross Recognized by FierceWireless, EE Times, and Portable Design for Its Superior Antenna Technology
VIERA, Florida, May 21, 2008—SkyCross, a global wireless company providing antenna-centric radio-frequency (RF) solutions, has been recognized for its Isolated Mode Antenna Technology (iMAT) in the annual awards granted by three different media companies: FierceWireless, EE Times, and Portable Design. iMAT is a single-antenna approach for diversity or multiple-in, multiple-out (MIMO) communications that provides significant benefits for device designers and manufacturers, network operators, and end users.
FierceWireless: FierceWireless eletter, which has 72,000 subscribers, named SkyCross to its annual “Fierce 15” list, designating it as one of the top wireless companies of the year. Editors evaluated hundreds of organizations and found SkyCross among the “fiercest,” proven by its problem-solving solutions, recent iMAT innovation, and dedication to superior customer support. “SkyCross developed a solution that many thought was impossible—a single antenna that offers the performance benefits of multiple antennas without creating interference issues,” said Sue Marek, Editor-in-Chief, FierceWireless. “The continued innovation at SkyCross is impressive.”
EE Times: EE Times, distributed to 150,000 design engineers, selected SkyCross as one of five finalists in the magazine’s fourth Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards. iMAT was included in the Most Promising Technology category. “The 2008 finalists represent the execution of forward-thinking technologies and creativity that captures the imagination of consumers, illustrating the influence that electronics and embedded design professionals have on today’s culture,” said Junko Yoshida, Editor in Chief, EE Times.
Portable Design: This publication has more than 31,000 subscribers in the communications electronics industry. "Every year Portable Design singles out for recognition those new products that we consider to be the most innovative, choosing from among the thousands of product releases that cross our desks," said John Donovan, Editor-in-Chief, Portable Design. iMAT was awarded the 2008 Editor’s Choice Innovation of the Year award.
“We are honored to be recognized by three very well-respected media companies,” said Dr. Chris Morton, CEO of SkyCross. “SkyCross has strong relationships with device manufacturers and looks forward to a bright future for iMAT, particularly as protocols that require diversity or MIMO such as HSPA, WiMAX, and LTE are deployed.”
