Terrestrial Mobile Video The SkyCross terrestrial
mobile video product family includes external, retractable, detachable, as well as internal
antenna designs for terrestrial DMB (T-DMB) and Digital Video Broadcasting – Handheld (DVB-H). This
product family supports the expanding rollout in South Korea, the introduction of T-DMB and DVB-H in China, as well as DVB-H trials in Europe and in other parts of the world.
The mobile video terrestrial frequency bands operate as low as 180 MHz on some networks. This is considerably lower than voice standards, which start at the 850 MHz band. The low frequency specifications for terrestrial mobile video physically demand a larger antenna. SkyCross is able to engineer these antennas smaller than the competition with equivalent performance and has developed fully embedded solutions even at the lowest frequency bands.
Satellite Mobile VideoSkyCross is currently the worldwide leading supplier of mobile video antennas for the Satellite – Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (S-DMB) service in South Korea. SkyCross delivered the world's first antenna for the initial S-DMB handsets released in 2004 and continues to use advanced quadrifilar helical antenna (QHA) technology for
today's designs. These S-DMB antennas can stand alone or be combined with internal antennas that support voice, data, terrestrial mobile video back-up links.
