Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Youngmin Jo has more than 20 years experience in the wireless industry, specializing in RF theory, measurement, and design. He is responsible for managing SkyCross' global operations and its advanced technology development.
As an initial founder of SkyCross with deep technology domain expertise, Dr. Jo served in executive positions, including COO and, most recently, CTO. Since the company was founded he led the technology development and invented many new technologies. As a member of the management team, he has initiated and led strategic investments to SkyCross from key partners including SK-Telecom and NTT-DoCoMo. In addition to his role in HQ, he founded SkyCross Korea, which is a subsidary of SkyCross and served as a general manager for more than 10 years, where he managed the company to be one of the major antenna suppliers in Korea. While working in SkyCross, he served as an adjunct professor at Korea University where he taught graduate and undergraduate students. His expertise brought him to the instructor position to teach and train engineers and managers in global handset makers such as Samsung and LGE for the last several years.
Before joining SkyCross, he worked on smart antenna program funded by the U.S. Air Force as a lead researcher in Antenna Systems Lab. Previously he served in Samsung Electronics as a researcher designing DSP chips, and Mac Trans International as a trading manager.
Dr. Jo has more than 40 issued and pending U.S./international patents and has also written several articles on RF technology, measurement and antenna design for a variety of industry publications.
He has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Korea University, and a master's and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Tech. He is a member of IEEE, a fellow member of IEIE, and a senior board member in KITS.
Vice President of Engineering, North America
Frank M. Caimi has more than 30 years of experience in antenna and RF research development.
Most recently, Caimi has served as associate professor of electrical engineering at Florida Institute of Technology’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Previously, Caimi has served as a consultant on communications and signal processing for industry and government organizations and has more than 18 years of experience in technical and leadership management.
He has a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Vice President and General Manager, Greater China
Amanda Jiang has more than 10 years of business management experience within the antenna industry, including business development, program management, R&D management, supply chain management, customer service and logistics management.
Previously, Jiang was general manager of Ethertronics’ China R&D center, handling day-to-day operations as well as business development, R&D management and supply chain management. Before Ethertronics, Jiang spent five years with Shanghai Amphenol Airwave, where she managed both key accounts including Nokia and Huawei, and R&D groups including Shanghai and Beijing. Prior to Amphenol, Jiang held sales executive and customer service executive roles in the antenna division at Filtronics Suzhou Telecommunication, serving both major overseas accounts and key local accounts.
Jiang has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Information Engineering from Soochow University, China.
Director and Regional Manager, Korea/Japan
Carl Lee has more than 20 years of experience in the wireless industry and other major IT industry specializing in engineering and business development. In particular, he has spent 10 years in sales working for antenna businesss.
Before joining SkyCross, he worked as the Korean sales representative of Omnivision for its camera modules leading sales activities with Motorola, LG & Pantech and was responsible for overseas sales working with LiteOn of Taiwan and Namtai of Hong Kong. He previously functioned as a router engineer with LG Electronics developing VoIP and ultra-high speed routers.
Carl has a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.
Interim Chief Financial Officer
For the last 15 years, Richard worked at various companies in the Bay Area where he was a Vice President to Chief Financial Officer. Richard is currently consulting for SkyCross, Inc., as the Chief Financial Officer.
Before joining SkyCross, Inc., he spent several years directing the accounting, finance, tax, treasuring, IT and indirect purchasing functions of small to mid-size companies such as Trident Microsystems, Inc. and Asyst Technologies, Inc. During this time, he managed the worldwide accounting and finance functions for up to 20 legal entities as well as managed a worldwide staff of up to 65 accounting and finance personnel. His expertise lies in the areas of mergers and acquisitions; initial and secondary public offerings; restructuring and turnarounds; debt agreements; IT and systems integration, transfer pricing and tax planning; financial strategies, budgeting processes and forecasting; resources allocation and capital investments; treasuring and cash management; internal controls (SOX compliance); and SEC reporting.
Richard graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a B.S. in Business Administration, minoring in both finance and accounting. He serves on the Board of the League of Women Voters of San Fancisco. He served on the Board of the Bay Area Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International and was the President of the Walnut Creek Soccer Club.
