VersiTune-LTE™ Tunable Antenna Module for Multiband 4G LTE Devices In this Engineering TV interview (1/17/12), Lou Frenzel of Electronic Design magazine talks with Charles Riggle, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at SkyCross, about its VersiTune-LTE™ tunable antenna module for 4G LTE mobile devices. SkyCross announced commercial availability of the module at 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show, held Jan. 10-13 in Las Vegas. Also at CES, Verizon Wireless worked with SkyCross to incorporate 4G LTE antenna modules using SkyCross’s patented iMAT® antenna technology into products from Seagate Technologies, Ambient Corp. and Consert. These products were demonstrated live on the Verizon 4G LTE network.

Antenna Challenges in Smartphones and Tablets with 4G Rising
Optimizing the performance of the antenna in mobile data devices is becoming increasingly critical and can make the difference between a satisfied customer and a customer who is ready to jump to another network provider. However, the challenges for 4G antenna implementation in smartphones and tablets are significant. SkyCross Supports Verizon Wireless and Alcatel-Lucent Demo of Live 4G LTE Multi-Continent Gaming Over Commercial 4G LTE Network A SkyCross T-Series™ LTE antenna provided real-time device connectivity for a demonstration of live 4G LTE at the Verizon Wireless and Alcatel-Lucent booths at Mobile World Congress. Visitors experienced interactive, multi-player gaming and live video conferencing between Barcelona and a moving 4G LTE-enabled vehicle in the United States. The demonstration enabled multiple players to simultaneously participate in popular video games and experience audio and video streaming applications embedded in the mobile gaming platform.
